So, here are some sketches, as per usual.

This one's quite old.

This one was done in photoshop, and used a reference book. Most of the "good" drawings are from references.

Ink washes. References from deviantart. They can be found easily enough.

A house that's somewhat near the college I attend. And a ladybuy, also deviantart reference.
I drew the people and classrooms in front of me.

Finally getting around to learning how to draw clothes.
Learning clothes, and random bits of the face. Those show up quite often.

So, here are some sketches from the past month.

This sketch was done right before the first session of my art class this semester. Ironic part was that the teacher was 25 minutes late.

My class is compromised of a beginning drawing class and an advanced drawing class. I'm in the advanced drawing class with three other students. We essentially get to draw whatever we want, which is nice. So, this was one of my homework assignments.

Drew this with some gray pens in my art class.
Homework, decided to study how to draw spoons.
Homework. I don't really know how to draw animals. I recently bought a book on animal anatomy for artists.

I'm not good with titles.

Anyways, here are some sketches from the later half of last year.

Drew some figures in my art history class based off of some statues and stuff.

Random stuff. This is a typical page in a sketchbook of mine.
Some fantasy stuff. Trying to explore my imagination.
Dress designs? The figure in the lower-right was also practice using a brush pen.
And the bear was loleping over the mountain! It's from Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang.

I had gotten a new bag for my art supplies. And then the strap ripped off. Still works for carrying around 14"x17" paper.
Not exactly sure. Asked a coworker to pick three colors, and this is the result.
My friend gave me a Sakura ink pen. In return I gave her this. That pen doesn't work too well anymore.

I've got a bad case of it. How can you tell? I procrastinated from posting in this blog. So here are some sketches.

A sketch I did shortly before my Econ exam.

I was watching a retro spiderman cartoon, which inspired this. I also wanted to semi color with pens.

This was done in flash. I wanted to sketch by Photoshop is really slow w/o an AC cord, and at the time I didn't have my AC cord. That's when I found that Flash works wonderful without an AC cord.

Next Monday's comic is in process, and Tony is coming home tonight for a week and a half:D

Alright, trying to keep up with all of these sketches. First off, I'd like to throw out there how I've would like to make a Ustream account to let people watch me draw while I'm working on it and communicate with people and all that jazz. But, it would be all for not if no one's watching. If you think it's a good idea and would like to watch me draw, please please please let me know. I really won't feel any need if no one is going to say anything. I have posted it on both the Easy Skankin forums and <insert title here> forums, but I haven't gotten a reply. So, let's see some sketches.

I've been doing some studies during my breaks at work since I'm so busy with homework and webcomics at home.

More studies. I haven't been happy with my arms lately, so I copied some study thingies from one of my anatomy books.

This is Jack. Jack is not a pirate. If you call him a pirate, he will punch you in the face. He actually wanted to be a ninja, but due to a strange accident he lost sight (or his eye, haven't decided yet) and because of his bad vision he couldn't become a ninja anymore.

More studies. Really focusing on the bone and muscle structure, as well as a little break with a face in the corner.

I randomly thought about this while looking at my art tackle boxes.

End of story. So here's a sketch I did while procrastinating.

I think I have a serious procrastination problem. Seriously, I sometimes even procrastinate on comics. Doesn't make any sense.

Speaking of comics, Sunday's comic for Easy Skankin' is ready and should be up 12:00 AM UTC (00:00 UTC) this Sunday, 9:00 PM PST (21:00 PST) this Saturday. Still working on Monday's comic for <insert title here>.

WIPs of RvB Fanart

I always feel like I don't have time to myself, when really I do. It's sad that I put myself through this. And, every once in a while I'll look through my photoshop folder to look through old art stuff that I've set aside, and I thought to myself, "Why not a screenshot?" So here's one.

If you know of my work on deviantART, you'll notice that this looks like a lot like Church from my fanart of Tex and Church, and it is. I was going to do an accompanying piece, and I had several ideas. The first one was essentially of young Church sitting on the side of his bed holding Tex's tags, meaning that he, as the fiance to Tex, was given one of her tags because she died in war. Then, I was going to have the picture go down into darkness and then show older Church, sitting at an executive like table wearing a suit, in a similar position except maybe his hands at his eyes, linked, etc. I think it was my laziness that I cropped the picture, or because I couldn't draw it how I wanted it to look. And then I got lazier and never finished it beyond the inking. Something I'd really like to do would be to make a fan comic of the events of Tex and Church leading up to her death. But, I'm too lazy and it would take too much time. And, I really should try out drawing the characters from Red Vs Blue. Which is something I've also been working on.

It's of Tucker, Caboose, and Church, in that order. They're actually in the background. There are of course some things that I don't like about it. Church looks too skiny and his helmet looks too big. Caboose's helmet is just bad in general, I'll need to take a screenshot at a certain angle for reference or something. And Tucker...well, so far he's ok, I just need to finish him. Oh, and Caboose's left hand looks too small (remember that to him it's his left hand, but we're seeing it on the right... "Let's see, it makes an L with you're thumb..."

Finished a sketchbook yesterday, essentially. The last page could be worked on, but I probably won't, knowing me. So let's see those remaining sketches!

Running! And hehe, I tried drawing Tony back before he entered the Air Force, and failed.

Random stuff. I tried taking a picture of Jeriko and Gray on my phone and sent it to Stone, but it was all blurry for him, so he didn't get it. /sigh

In fact, I love Ian's art so much it inspired me to do chibis. And actually, I drew that thing at the bottom right hand corner first, making fun of what is "hot" nowadays.

I had fun with prismacolor pencils.

Anyways! Now that I have completed this sketchbook, I have several others that I've started and left off. So, now I can fill those up. I hate doing that actually, starting a sketchbook, and then starting another one without completing the other one first. It's actually very annoying. And I have, like, three like that right now. And then a brand new one I'm not touching 'till those are finished.

I almost forgot. I had taken this picture as a retrospect of how many sketch books I've had over the years. These date back to 2002.

To me, it's not enough. But, back then I use to think that every drawing in a sketchbook had to be a work of art. Now I know that sketches can be more casual than that. Nowadays I'm doing more studies, and I feel that I should do more and more, especially of background and everyday objects. I'll get around to it eventually...

Old Sketch

So, I've decided that any sketches that I'm not using will be stored on my exterior hard drive and clear up the space on my computer. While going through the sketches I found an old one from last month, that I should have posted earlier.

Not really all that great. It was suppose to be someone sitting on air (or glass) with a bunch of papers underneath them. Probably sketches, as you can see the sketchbook right next to them. And obviously I didn't go anywhere with it. When drawing this tho I was remembering this scene of Paradise Kiss where George was lying down on a balcony on one of the higher floors of his school, and all of his sketches had been caught in the wind.

Yeah, and she's naked. I tend to do that. I remember agreeing with a friend several years ago about how sometimes it feels like a shame to cover a drawing of a person with clothes, because you just worked so hard on drawing a beautiful body. I try to make that up either by drawing awesome clothes or clothes that are very tight fitting.

And on an unrelated note, I figured out how to store Red vs Blue on my 4 GB micro SD card, and then watch them on my cell phone. Pretty awesome.

I find it slightly funny that the picture I posted in my last post got removed. Anyways, I feel like I should put more drawings up here and stuff. It's just hard to keep up. So here's a WIP.

Conrad: "Hey, Carrie, when you get the time, could you draw me a pirate?"
Carrie: "Okay. And she's going to have huge bewbies."
Theresa: "I want to draw you a pirate!"
Cara: "I'm gonna draw you a pirate!"

Currently, Theresa is drawing Conrad as a pirate. And now she wants to draw all of us as pirates...of like a ship or something.

Practice Through Repition

I suck at anthro. This was going to be fanart for the Chronicles of Salterre, but I'm lazy.

I was going to work on this more, but then I forgot about it. It's suppose to be some dude who is a chocobo breeder or something...the chocobo sketches look good, but the guy looks like a girl. Fail.

More random anatomy studies.

Once in a while I'll draw pictures from photos (they always are my best sketches). I'll go on deviantART to find pictures...but most of them are of girls...in suggestive poses. Fail. The hand and legs are from somewhere else...can't remember tho.

Drew a couple bone studies from a book called Anatomy for the Artist. It's a great book.

I'm thinking of making a fancomic based off of the beginning of this. When I saw that video, I was rofling so hard....sooo haard.

This picture and the next few are from one of my larger sketchbooks, so I had to take a picture of it since it won't fit in my scanner.

Fail.

Once again, drawings from photos. It's hard finding good photos of the human body on the internet. For me anyways.

I think it should be obvious which drawings are from my head and which ones are copies. The copies always look waaay better.

Practice truly is the key to perfection.

Mini Sketch Book

I feel that it's important to sketch as much as possible. To do this, carrying a sketchbook with you everywhere is quite efficient, and it's easier with a smaller sketchbook than the traditional 9'' by 12'' (although those are more fun to draw in). So, a while ago I got a 3.5'' by 5". Here's a ton of sketches from that book. And if you think this is a lot, think of all the pages I left out. Also, my scanner is sucking, so all the sketches are hard to see. Sorry 'bout that. Next round will look better (hopefully).

The best part about drawing people from a third floor on a building and looking down at them is the fact that most people don't look up to notice that you're drawing them. Lolz.

You may have noticed that I draw mostly people, so to spice it up I decided to try and draw interiors. I happened to be in my car at the time.

There's a contest over at deviantART, and I played with the idea of enterting it, but then I remembered how I'm not popular in the internet art community and would totally fail. Thus, I will not enter and not waste my time failing....or flailing.

Chronicles of Salterre Fanart

Here's some WIPs of some fanart for the Chronicles of Salterre.

This was just a quickie. I really like Gray, I think she's my favorite character. I don't like this drawing to much. It's the legs. She's suppose to be jumping up...but, it just looks bad.

In their latest comic, their third panel was so adorable, that I had to draw this. I posted it over at the forums, and got good feedback from Nziz. Yay! :D

Some Sketches

What better way to start off a sketchblog than with some sketches? So, let's get started.

I don't really like this one. It's suppose to be a redo of a really old watercolor I did long ago, just to see how I've progressed. But, so many of the proportions are wrong, like the head to the body and etc. But, it's the shading and muscle tone that I like.

This is the sketch was actually just some fun copying from a photo of me and my boyfriend (before he went to basic training), which the finished version appears in my comic here. A lot of people liked the finished drawing, I don't so much. I feel that it could be better. And on a side note, I showed him this comic when I went to visit him in San Antonio when he graduated from basic training ;D.

This is the sketch from my favorite comic that I've done. I think it's more of the final product than the sketch that I like so much.

This is the sketch I did for this picture. This sketch was actually rather quick, thinking back to it now.

This was just for fun. Wanted to try it out, and haven't gone anywhere with it. I really like the pants.

This drawing appears in The Fangirl Part 2. I really didn't like either of the comics, but they were just fillers until I got my computer back from the repair shop.
